Runcorn Reps ASC is a friendly and inclusive swimming club catering for all abilities from those finishing lessons through to those who are more experienced swimmers.
We provide each swimmer the opportunity to develop and train at their own pace, with each session delivered by one of our highly trained coaches with specific focuses on technique and stroke development as well as working on building speed and stamina. As a club, we also encourage all of our swimmers to participate in competitions and galas, as well as hosting annual club championships for swimmers to see their times.
We offer a variety of training at Brookvale Recreation Centre and some fitness-based land training at other locations.
Runcorn Reps is run by a group of volunteers, which includes all of our coaches and committee. All help is appreciated, if you wish to get involved please reach out to our chairperson or head coach!

We operate a four-squad system. Entry-level moves onto C squad and they train together. C squad progresses to B squad and then B squad to A squad. A and B squads train together. E/C Squad is perfect for developing technique and knowledge of the sport, and progression into A/B allows for more intense training in preparation for competitions.
Most new swimmers will join at Entry level but this is assessed at your initial trial.
Squad movements are decided by the coaching team and are based on various factors including technique, speed, and etiquette. Each squad also contains assigned lanes that match swimmers with those of a similar ability, increasing competition and allowing each lane to try and progress together.
CANCELLATIONS: some sessions may be cancelled due to issues with the site, weather conditions, and coach availability.
PLEASE CHECK THE FACEBOOK/EMAILS FOR CANCELLATION MESSAGES
Reps has a variety of different events in our year calendar, providing an enjoyable time for all of our swimmers. We hold multiple training sessions a week for each squad, see our timetable.
We also invite some swimmers from our top squads to attend long-course training at an Olympic Pool in Wavertree. This pool is 50m, double the size of our regular 25m training pool. Training at a longer distance prepares swimmers for competitions and gives them something new to try out.
In previous years the committee have organised a trip to Majorca to train with ex-Olympians.
Swimmers are encouraged to attend individual galas over the year to try and get a personal best-time record. Reps also participate in the Merseyside & District League, which consists of 3 team competitions and a final. All swimmers will be asked to attend to compete for the team.
We hold an annual summer trip, where the swimmers are invited to somewhere different to have some fun and enjoy quality time as a team. Previously we have been to waterparks and aquatic parks. To finish off the year the club holds a Runcorn Reps Club Championship, inviting all swimmers to race in their age groups within the club. These times allow coaches to see progression and assist with team selection. Swimmers will get a certificate with their times, and the fastest 3 swimmers in each age group will be given a medal at our Christmas Party. This will be held on the 27th December 2025.
If you wish to find out more about any of these events, speak to a one of the coaching team or a committee member!

Here at Runcorn Reps we have a range of different awards that can be won by the swimmers. See below for more information on what is available, how they are achieved, and when.
Team Captains are selected to be role model athletes and people, they provide an experienced swimmer for the team to talk to if they have any questions or concerns. Usually there are two Senior Captains selected from our A/B Squads, and two Junior Captains from our Entry/C Squads. With this role you also receive a special t-shirt and a trophy.
Senior Captains: Mischa and Izzie
Junior Captains: Evie and David
At our Christmas Party, the coaches select winners for our 3 main trophies. These winners will keep the shield for a year, before returning it for the next winner. All previous winners are given a miniature version to commemorate their achievement.
The Prescot Trophy is awarded to the swimmer who has maintained a high standard throughout the year, has a positive attitude towards training, and always tries their best.
The Toppings Trophy is awarded to the swimmer who has worked hard at training and improved massively over the year, this swimmer has put in a lot of effort and has developed a lot.
The Squad Trophy is awarded to the swimmer who has represented the club at competitions/individual galas, this includes number of events entered and attitude whilst competing.
The swimmers also get to pick a winner of an award! Each swimmer will be asked to vote for one of the coaches to receive the Coach of the Year Award, this is the coach who they personally have enjoyed swimming with and feel deserves recognition for all their hard-work.
In previous years the club has also given out a Land Training Award, selected by the land training instructor, which is for the person who had tried hardest at land training.
A unique Most Improved Award was given out at the 2024 Christmas Party, as the coaches agreed that this swimmer deserved individual recognition for their efforts.
For swimmers who break a club record, they will get their name on the record sheet and receive a trophy at the Christmas Party.
